Abatement activities can become costly to the property Owner if not performed in compliance with OSHA standards. Abatement contractors may offer oversight services and perform their own Final Clearances in addition to remediation services. This is a potential conflict of interest and an abuse of services with contractors not removing all hazardous materials yet still providing themselves Clearance, or never passing Clearance tests prompting Change Orders for further abatement, costing the Client time and money.
